It uses a high-precision delta-sigma A/D converter to measure temperature, voltage, and current, and integrates current value during both discharging and charging phases. By combining these measurements with specific battery characteristic parameters, it performs capacitance correction, enabling highly accurate battery management. MM8118 includes a range of features to make battery use safe and secure, including battery degradation detection based on changes in capacitance. It also provides notification functions to report battery status and anomalies. MM8118 can be implemented on both of host-side and battery-side. The MM8118W is optimized for ultra-low power consumption. It is ideal for wearable devices and other compact products with small battery capacities, thanks to its tiny CSP package, which is well-suited for space-constrained designs.
